Remedial Massage in Huskisson, Jervis Bay
Remedial massage at Bowline is hands-on treatment built around you: what's sore, what you do all day and what you want to get back to. David works from our room inside The Anchorage on Scallop Street, Huskisson.
Who it suits
Remedial massage suits anyone carrying pain, tightness or tension that isn't shifting on its own. That includes tradies and desk workers, runners, surfers and gym-goers, parents lifting little ones all day, and people who simply want to move more easily. You don't need an injury to book. Many clients come in regularly to stay ahead of the aches.
What to expect in a session
Your first appointment starts with a chat about what's going on and how your work, sport and family life might be feeding into it. David then tailors the session to you, checking in on pressure as he goes. You'll leave with a clear idea of what he found and, if it helps, a few simple things to try at home. Wear something comfortable. Payment is made when you book, and we ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
Techniques David uses
-
Myofascial release: slow, sustained pressure on the connective tissue around muscles. It may help ease stiffness and improve how freely an area moves.
-
Trigger point therapy: focused pressure on tight, tender knots within a muscle. Releasing these may help reduce local pain and pain that refers elsewhere.
-
PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation): a stretching method where you gently contract and relax a muscle with David's guidance. It may help improve range of motion.
-
Sports massage techniques: a mix of deeper strokes, stretching and targeted work suited to active people. It may help with recovery between training sessions or events.

Frequently asked questions
Is remedial massage painful?
It shouldn't be more than you're comfortable with. David checks in on pressure throughout, and you can ask for lighter or firmer at any time.
How often should I come?
It depends on what you're working on. Many people find every 2 to 4 weeks keeps things on track, and rebooking within 4 weeks gets you the lower rate.
Can I claim it with my health fund?
Bowline isn't registered for health fund rebates. The rebook rate is often on par with what many funds pay back, and it doesn't cap out.
